Karina & Andrew – Fort Worth Wedding

Karina & Andrew - Fort Worth Wedding

When I showed up for the wedding at the Courthouse I met Karina and Andrew. I noticed Karina had an adorable accent, but I couldn’t tell where it was from. As we chatted and got to know each other before the ceremony began, I discovered she was from Brazil! I was so excited because I lived in Santos, Brazil for 8 months! Once we figured out that we both spoke Portuguese we had a blast speaking in her native tongue and bonding over out love for Brazil! <3

Karina originally came to the United States as an au pairs. She loves children and had such a great time tending to the kids in the family that hired her. After a while, she decided to get on some dating apps and see if there were any nice boys to go out with, and that is how she met Andrew 🙂 Thank goodness for Hinge! They went out on a date, and now the rest is history!

It was a very windy day, so I was a little concerned about how our photos would turn out. Unfortunately, you can’t control the weather, even if it is your wedding day! However, we did not let the wind stop us. We came out of the courthouse and went to side of the building that had the best light. The wedding was at 1pm, so we had to find a place with shadows. The harsh sunlight in the middle of the day can cause shadows that are not as flattering as the soft light from shaded areas.

Luckily, the side of the building with the best light was also blocking most of the strong winds! We could not have planned it better if we tried! The Fort Worth courthouse is absolutely stunning! It has beautiful brick that we were able to use as a backdrop for this couples’ first pictures as husband and wife.

After getting these gorgeous shots at the courthouse, we walked across the street. Right across from the courthouse is a beautiful street with adorable little shops. Right before the wedding there was a music festival on the same street. However, it stopped right before we wanted to walk over and use the street. Although the music was fun, it was nice to not have to try and scream posing directions for Karina and Andrew over the sound!

It was a simple wedding with only Andrew and Karina’s best friends attending. Karina’s best friend also happened to be her sister who flew all the way from Brazil to be there! Greg, Andrew’s best man, thought it would be fun to do a little bouquet toss on the street. How could we say no to that? So Karina grabbed her bouquet and threw it over her shoulder for Greg to catch! It was a fun and sweet little moment!

Thanks again Karina and Andrew for trusting me to capture your special day! It’s crazy how it can be such a big world and a small world all at the same time! I bet Karina never imagined growing up that the love of her life would be waiting for her in Texas! I am so happy for them and excited for everything that the future holds!
